Jan 19 4am - Colleen update
Here’s the summation – with new added details:
(deep breath)…
Colleen is currently on life support.
While Colleen Mills was at her weekly exercise class 7pm -ish, before class started, Colleen experienced heart failure – aka heart stopped- and collapsed immediately. (Emily her 16 yr old daughter saw all of this) – we found out around 8pm
Although they administered CPR right away, they did not get her heart going until 16 min later, and then again at the hospital. Although she was conscious she was not cognitive (no idea what was going on, out of it)
Her eyes dilated at the hospital, and she was irritated with the breathing/air hose down her throat – both of those are actually a good sign.
The Emergency room doctors put her in a chemical induced coma (sedation) and are keeping her in an ice bath (this protects the brain) – and over 2 DAYS will gradually bring her out of the coma.
Her CT was clear – which is hopeful that there is no obvious brain damage
They’ll be doing an ECG tomorrow (well today Jan 19) to test the heart to see if it’s okay.
There’s been heart failure in the family before, most recently her cousin of the same age (he’s fine now), could have been a side effect from the chemo way back when (like she hadn’t been through enough, our dear bionic woman)
Apparently there’s tubes everywhere – EVERYwhere (when even the guys say this….)
The doctors are hopeful, they’ve seen many come through well. Still a wait, pray & see.
Thank you greatly for your continued prayer … it is so very important. (feel free to forward, honestly I think I’ve texted complete strangers at this point, any fellow believers men & women of God) Hey it worked for my hubby, so lets give it a whirl again.
The main point is for her heart to start beating on it’s own, and not with the help of a machine.
We’ll since it’s 4am I’ll go to bed now (for posterity sake)
Will keep you posted
Warmest regards
Sylvia Bevan

To Alec and family, My thoughts and prayer's are with you all. May you all feel God's presence during this difficult time. When I joined the BBC youth group, I had the great opportunity to meet alot of people of God. It was hard being a newcomer, but a few people went out of their way to include me in outings, gettogethers and even bible studies, and new ways of bringing in God into allo the area's of my life. And that was Colleen Mills. She was so friendly and welcoming without boarders. I will always remember that. She is one of the nicest and beautiful women that I had the pleasure of meeting at BBC.May God bless you all during this time!
We're praying for God's peace and an overwhelming sense of His presence with you all!
Love in Christ,
Stan & Judi
I am sorry to hear about this trial but trusting the entire situation to God. We have never met but that does not prevent me from remembering you in prayer
