Day 3 Jan 20 1:30pm EST

Hi all,
My apologies I was at the hospital overnight – JUST got in the door (2:26pm) and am typing on less than 4hrs sleep total

since Monday
I’ll try to type in complete sentences…

First – the good news:
• Her heart is taking over from the machine (good thing) and she is beginning to breathe on her own (good thing) –

still hooked up to machinery but they are lowering as she gets stronger.

The Current news as of 1:30pm:

• Orig they were going to start bringing her out of deep freeze at 3am – that was belayed until 9am – when her electrolytes were high enough to start the process
• They warmed her body and tried to wake her – and she went into seizures
• They gave her anti-seizure drug dilantin, but it was not effective, so they put her back in a coma until they can decide on a course of action
• Even in the coma she is currently having twitches
• We heard from one of the nurses that she was conscious but not cognitive when she originally came in on Monday. In all cases that they have had so far, anyone who came in conscious, woke up at some point cognitively from the coma, so it gives encouragement for Colleen – but we weren’t there yet, at least at 1:30pm.

My sister Evelyn (who just had surgery last thurs) is staying with Colleen overnight (she’s very determined)

How to pray:

Continue to pray that the seizures will cease and that she will be cognitive when she awakes; that there be no damage to brain, organs, etc from lack of oxygen. Pray for continued peace for the family.

Emily's scheduled to take her drivers course tomorrow (Thurs) - please don't ask her about it, kindly just pray -cause they need the extra driver at this point.

It is likely we will not know any new information until tomorrow morning (Jan 20th)

Thank you Alec’s brother Thom kindly launched this blog website which we will be updating

Keep praying my friends! Keep praying…

Sylvia
(Colleen’s youngest sister)

Feel free to forward

Friends that I didn't even know were believers are covering Colleen and her family with prayer from literally the four corners of the earth... God is working in so many hearts and drawing us all together. It is remarkable... If you can, give this a listen, I Have This Hope by Tommy Walker! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uSbJtqYow3Q
Blessings and continued prayer,Doreen (God's loving the extra attention I'm giving Him...)

Colleen ... we were playing the CD's at lunch you gave us for Micah when he was born (November 2008). Boy does he ever love those CD's. You should see him dance. I remember you saying that you used to play them for your kids when they were wee-little guys. I bet they 'busted a move' too. Thinking and praying for you and your family, as we listen to these great tunes!

Trusting in Him,

Tonnes of Love

Thank-you so much for this for this blog, we are on the periphery of Colleen and Alec's life, not at all close friends, but part of God's family... and love bumping into them, like last Saturday night, as I walked away from Colleen into the night air, I literally declared a celebration of her health to the heavens, thanking God for his faithfulness these past 7 plus years. Everytime I see her I am reminded of His faithfulness and His power... so beautifully displayed in Colleen's life. Praying for your whole entire family. Kelly
